Stars & Moon Themed Nursery

picmonkey-image-5We finally finished Landon’s room just in time for him to get here! I was really debating between an adventure awaits kind of theme and the stars and moon theme. Of course I asked hubby what he thought and he liked the Stars & moon idea, so problem solved!

Here’s my hubby working hard to get rid of our dark purple walls that once made up our guest room. We decided to go with baby blue for our little boy.

We were lucky because we still had the crib our first son Nolan used, eve though that was 6 years ago. It was white but I decided I wanted to paint it grey. I know how babies are in the fact that they like to put EVERYTHING in there mouth, so I knew I had to find a safe paint for our sweet baby boy. While googling baby safe paints I stumbled across Lullaby Paints and that really seem to sound like the safest paint for the crib. I used one quart of their Semi-Gloss furniture paint in Moonstone. I put about three coats on the crib and still had enough left over to do about two coats on the dresser. I’m really happy with this paint, its barely glossy and has not scratched up on me yet!

We purchased a lot of the baby’s items from Target and of course Amazon. I had put this cute pillow with the quote “Dream Big, Little One” on my baby registry and was so glad I received it. I think it adds so much to the room. The crib bedding was also a must! The brand is aden + anais and they have so many cute prints on soft cotton muslin fabric.

The dresser was also purchased from Ikea, but apparently they’ve already stopped selling it?! My older son Nolan made this cute card for Landon and gave it to him the day he was born, you can read about that more here.

img_8303My wonderful Mom made this star and moon themed mobile to go with his room. She surprised me with it at my baby shower.

img_8302She also made these lovely canvas’s. She is such a great artist! All the women on my mom’s side have their knack for art, which seems to have skipped me.

Landon will be sleeping in his bassinet in our room for the first few months, but it’s still nice to be done with his room. Let me know what you guys think of little Landon’s Nursery and if you have any questions about something I used in his room.
